Easy, clear path no incline. It’s a wonderful trail that moves in and out of the forest with great views of the lake and mountains.

There is also an option to use a free shuttle that runs every fifteen minutes from Lake Louise Overflow car park between 8 AM and 4:15 PM from mid-September to mid-October. Way fewer people in the evening and just as beautiful. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and backpacking. If you’re up for some hard hiking and have skills to find/follow at times poorly marked trails, then go for it. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is a beautiful, easy trail to view the lovely Morrainne Lake. Most of the trail has a grade less than 5% but the steepest sections have up to a 15% grade and are at about 0.3 miles and 0.7 miles.

Beautiful path along the shore line of this magnificent lake. We arrived at the parking lot at 6:15am and got one of the last parking spots to watch the sunrise. Moraine Lake Shoreline Trail is a 1.6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels.

We walked back to the big stream that runs into the lake, it was nice there, we could see the lake from another view. It is very chilly in the morning, so bring a polar fleece and/or light jacket. Moraine Lake Shore Trail From the Canoe docks, this is a flat trail that works its way along the shoreline of the lake and back. The trail got quieter and quieter as we walked further. Just be warned and maybe don’t hit this right after a rain/snow storm! We arrived at 6am the road was already closed, we thought as it was a weekday (a Friday) and later in the season, it might be easier to get to the parking lot, but no, I guess it still fills up by around 5am. We made it past that to a large rock pile which was awesome!
