The top of the tower is illuminated nightly with colored lights in recognition of various events around the city throughout the year.For the last six years, I have participated in a fund raising event at the tower where we climb up 802 steps to the observation deck on the 42nd floor. It's fun to go to the top and look at the city from the observation deck. Our family cleaned some of the buildings in the flats. You can see almost forever - where we used to dream when we were kids of going to places far away! Only open certain days and times, if you can get to the observation deck you absolutely should.
